Caricatures, Silhouettes and Illustrations by Leona Hosack

This was my latest submission to Illustration Friday, an on line Illustration Challenge a couple weeks ago!   The theme that week was Winter! I needed a reason to draw and when I learned what the theme was, I drew this with no planning or pre-drawing in about a half hour, for fun! I sketched it in pencil, and then using my new LED copy board, I inked over it with a fine permanent marker, and then colored it in with watercolor pencils! Illustration Friday Winter 

This caricature is of the couple below. This caricature of a couple on a bike was based on the photo below, taken many years ago of the parents of the client. This one is a caricature of the business partner of the client, who is originally from Ireland. I was asked to include the specific island he is from in the background, and the Irish symbols of a bag of potatos and a bag of gold. A sketch for the Caricature of the family below. This client send me photos of her and her husband, and one of her parents and their dog. She asked me to make everyone a merperson and the dog a merdog! I did this Wedding caricature of the couple below. Add caption Most recently I was asked to do this full body and gag background Caricature for the client to use as a logo image for her new business. I worked from the photo below.

I have a new goal, which is easy to fit in to my time, because I can't help but draw every day. I just need to draw, it's part of my being! I've been drawing caricatures for five and a half years now and have not  aced drawing gag bodies very quickly, so my new goal is that every time I feel like drawing I will specifically work on drawing gig bodies, especially super heros! Also I am so excited to announce that I am starting to offer my designs on Printful items in my Etsy shop!

 The pic. on the top is a caricature I did of a woman at a bank conference, I did last May with two other caricaturists! The one on the right and the one below are caricatures I did at The Boys and Girl Club Camp of Gardiner, Me, last August. I did this caricature at a Women's Leadership Conference in Boston, in November. I did this caricature at Traipp Academy's Project Graduation last June, which was held in Laconia, NH, near Weir's Beach. This one was done at an open house at Kittery Community Center in Kittery, Maine in May, 2017. I did this caricature of this lovely lady at The Franklin County Fair, last September! This one was done at The National Event at Kittery Community Center last August. Lots of people attended and the Elvis impersonator was actually really good! I did this at a wedding in North Berwick, Maine in November, 2017!
