O SON OF SPIRIT! I created thee rich, why dost thou bring thyself down to poverty?..."

Image
The above quote is from the Baha'i Writings! I love this quote! God created us rich in the ability to be creative, and to connect to the spiritual world and to put into the world whatever we can to make it a better place! Whatever we put our minds to we can do it! Here's a new cheering child to cheer us on this week! And here are two caricatures of my granddaughters Phaedra and Bailey as a Princess and Ballet Dancer respectively. This is my weekly  submission to Illustration Friday! The theme this week is guess what! Robots!  I thought I take a parenting view with this theme. I'm sure this robot mom is thinking "Time for a nap! Not for the baby, for me!!" Have a great week!

My new book Babysitter Blues is now available as an ebook!!

I am so excited to announce that my new (inspiriational fiction) novel for children of middle school age now officially released as an ebook by One Voice Press!!  Here's the summary: Fourteen year old Evan feels like there's no tomorrow. He's trapped in an unending cycle of babysitting his much younger half-siblings while his mom juggles work and classes. He has little memory of his father, who died when he was young, and his mother has just divorced the stepfather to whom he had grown close. A   gang of bullies at his school delights in tormenting him, but a sympathetic English teacher and a new friend,    Nava, help him to see that what seems to be a hopeless situation really isn't.                                                                                                                        Ebook editions now on sale. Paperback edition to be released later in 2013. http://www.onevoicepress.com/ Click here to hear an interview I gave in Ap

I had a successful day at The Strawberry Festival in South Berwick, Maine on June 29th!  I offered Silhouettes as usual, but also offered Caricatures and Pencil Portraits for the first time at this festival. I did about half and half Silhouettes and Caricatures and as well as a couple of Portraits!  At the end of June I did some Caricatures at a friend's neighborhood yard sale in Portsmouth, NH.                                                       A lot of cute little ones! I love it! M Musical News: Last week I performed with Salt River at Pro Portsmouth's Summer in the Streets concert series. Here is a Caricature I drew of one of the band members of Wooden Eye, the group that performed after us! To check out more of these concerts go to: www.proportsmouth.com. Tomorrow, July 14th, at 5 pm Salt River is performing at Hamilton House, a beautiful historic house in South Berwick, Maine! This is one of Historic New Englan

Calligraphy to celebrate a new birth!

Image
I did this Calligraphy for the birth of my newest grandaughter! It features a quote from the writings of the Baha'i Faith. And I added her name and birth date over the rose at the bottom. And I also put a little girl at top to make it more child friendly!
