My new cheering child of the week!
The Theme at Illustration Friday this week is "Worn". My  7 year old granddaughter and I talked about the different meanings of the word worn, and here's what we came up with!


On Sunday I did Caricaturing at a graduation party for five hours at a lake in New Hampshire! It rained a little but luckily I was under a tent and it didn't rain much. They had some great mats and we were able to mat each Caricature right away!











 The dog is not in the photo obviously!


 The graduate for which the party was thrown is in these pictures three different times! Can you spot her?

Story Telling in Illustration! Video on Norman Rockwell!

Story-telling!  It's such and important part of visual art, believe it or not. Especially in illustration! When I saw that the Theme of this week's Illustration Friday challenge is "Refrain" I instantly thought of two meanings of the word. Refrain-to keep from doing something, and -the chorus of a song. I think I managed to depict them both in this illustration. What do you think? What is the story here? The illustration below is one I did a few years back for a book idea I had called "Katy Has A Kitty." I still have a lot to learn about story telling in Illustration but practicing helps!
