Babysitter Blues-Halfway there! Kickstarter musings!

My kickstarter project is halfway through with 14 days to go, and we've reached almost half of the desired goal of $1000! I'm so amazed that we've come this far.

Who would have thought that I, a 61 year old, and a sort of late bloomer in the field of children's books, as well as computer marketing would even attempt to try something like this!!! Two years ago I could hardly handle facebook!

And though I always aspired to writing and illustrating children's picture books, I never dreamed I would ever write any kind of a novel! So happy that this story for middle school readers has already been published as an ebook by One Voice Press! And with the kickstarter project underway we will hopefully be able to produce the book in print soon!

Summary of Babysitter Blues:

Fourteen-year-old Evan feels like there's no tomorrow. He's trapped in an unending cycle of babysitting his much younger half-siblings while his mom juggles work and classes. His has little memory of his father, who died when he was young, and his mother has just divorced the stepfather to whom he had grown close. A gang of bullies at his school delights in tormenting him. But a sympathetic English teacher and a new friend, Nava, help him to see that sometimes what seems to be a hopeless situation really isn't.

In working out what the rewards might be we decided to utilize the drawings I did for the book as titles for the rewards! Here are the illustrations!

"Wait For It"
"Corey"s Meltdown"
